The osu! Stellar Series finals is coming up — who’s going to come out on top?

For years, Wacom pen tablets, like One by Wacom, Wacom Intuos and Wacom One, have been the preferred input method of choice for osu! players worldwide. So Wacom is proud to be a sponsor of the 2024 Stellar Series osu! Tournament.

What is osu!?

osu! — spelled all in lowercase, with the exclamation point — is a free-to-play rhythm-based video game by indie developer Dean Herbert, released in 2007. You can download it here.

The Standard mode of osu! involves clicking on circles that pop up around the screen to the beat of a song, and sometimes sliding between two of them or spinning the cursor around one. And it’s notable for being one of the few video games primarily played with creative pen tablets like the Wacom’s. Learn more about the game, its history, and Wacom’s involvement here.

What’s the Stellar Series osu! Tournament?

According to the organizers, “Stellar Series osu! Tournament (SSOT) is a community osu! tournament hosted by Fuvell. Since its inception in 2021, it has rapidly risen to become a leading event in osu! esports. With each passing year, SSOT unites the world’s elite players, introducing thrilling challenges to its ever-expanding audience.

SSOT stands distinct from other tournaments by focusing in attracting a broad viewership through our high-quality production and commitment to delivering engaging experiences that sets it apart. SSOT 24 will challenge top-tier players to their limits, and capture audiences with top notch production quality. SSOT is for the players, by the players, with aims to unlock the community’s utmost potential.”

SSOT has been taking place over the last few months, with qualifiers and early matches taking place in February, and the quarter and semifinals taking place at the beginning of March. But the big show is coming up: the Finals takes place over March 16-17, 2024, and the Grand Finals will take place on March 23-24, 2024. Past matches can be watched at SSOT’s YouTube channel.

There will also be a Showmatch during the Grand Finals, featuring some of the best osu! players and content creators, including the current #1 and #2 players in the world as well as plenty of other legends. This will be a 4×4 match, and players will be playing remarkable osu! maps from the game’s history, with a total prizepool of $1,000 USD!

There will be giveaways of two Wacom Intuos M tablets during the showmatch, so make sure to tune in!

How do I watch?

The tournament will be streamed live on SSOT’s Twitch and SSOT’s YouTube channel. The Finals will take place over March 16-17, 2024, and the Grand Finals will take place on March 23-24, 2024. VODs will also be saved to SSOT’s YouTube channel if you can’t catch it live.
